This "front pump" is a live-power pump. It is not controlled by the clutch, as the standard hydraulic system (lift-all) was on these tractors. Some of these used the lift-all or "belly pump" hydraulic reservoir for the live pump. In other cases the reservoir was a separate tank. I've seen some that were part of the loader frame. Removing the pump may have some hidden surprises, but in some cases (perhaps most) you can simply re-install the distributor once the pump is out of there. The pump didn't really replace another casting, it was just installed between the distributor and the drive shaft.
