Seeing that no one replied to your post, I will try to answer your questions. The 5288 was part of the 50series 2WDs. These were IHs last big 2WD/MFD tractors before the Case/IH merger. The 3688 was part of the 30 Series, which were built at the same time(1981-1984) as the 50 Series but were smaller horsepower. A 3688 is basiclly a 986 tractor with 50 series grille/sheetmetal. It has a TA, dry clutch, engine, rear end same as a 986. A 3588 is a 2+2 series, with a very long nose & 4WD. This tractor was designed for row-crop use here in the US and maybe was never exported overseas. These were built at the same time as the 86 series(1979-1981) & were replaced by the 6588.
