also, would disconnect the battery, and then closely - "very closely" examine every single wire and every singly connection in the entire electrical system, from the switch to the plugs, including the operation of the switch itself. In fact, do yourself a favor and get some "ring" connectors and new wire at Radio Shack, and replace every wire in the ignition system. A wire can have an internal break which is open sometimes and closed sometimes. This happened on my H on cold mornings. It was the dist lead from the coil. Cured.
