My unpleasant experience with a TISCO carb kit on my 51 H.

This is the 4th. or 5th. H carburator I have rebuilt over the last 9 years. The kit was NOT satisfactory. Gonna go back to IH next time. Here were the problems. Gasket for the main metering nozzle was too small. (ref 18) Had to use the old gasket. The idle metering jet (ref 20) was not the correct diameter. It sheared off when I was screwing it in. I took a numbered drill bit and successfully drilled it out and reused the old one. Choke shutter plate was warped. Used old one instead. (ref 40) No strainer screen retainer in the kit (ref. 13) I will be firing it up this evening too see if it works or not. In all I was not satisfied. Going back to an IH kit next time which I never have had problems with. More $$ but worth it.
