I have 2 cubs and just because the plugs look clean dosn't mean they are I spent over $150 in parts to find this out the hard way. If the tractor was running fine at one time and you haven't messed with the timing then that isn't the problem it won't get out of time by it self. If it has a magneto it can get gummed up and not advance properly. On one of mine it was the coil cap on the magneto it looked fine but the rivet between the inside clip and where che coil wire goes was corroded. If it does run after you pull it for a while it could be a fuel problem. It sounds like it might be flooding. Next time you get it started when you shut it off shut the fuel off also and when you try to start it next time crank it a little before you turn the gas back on. One other thing that had me baffeled for a while was the kill switch for the magneto went bad and it wouldn't let the tractor start. Maybe some of this will help or maybe not. Good Luck Tim
