Dave,
Check the casting codes on large parts like the block otr trans housing. Usually something like
2*6*X. The letter at the end is the year the part was cast. Post what you find here and someone can tell you the year. It won't be exact, but usually within one year. Check several parts because sometimes castings are replaced and that one will not match the others (unless they got unusually lucky).
