Dave: For some strange reason, some A and SA don't have that fill to level plug. There is a flat surface on casting but the hole was never drilled. My SA is this way. Once when I had it drained, I put the 5 quarts back in, then took an old Chevy V8 dipstick, made a mark on it for full. That has been hanging on my shop wall for 20 years. I cant remember without going to look, but I believe I was able to cut end off the chevy dipstick and use the full mark currently on it. I'm not going to look this afternoon, that south wind coming across Lake Erie is damn cold.
