Three point backhoe questions

What can you tell me about 3 point backhoe attachements? I see quite a few little 6 ft ones for compact japanese tractors but not many for for bigger tractors like our 460 Are there certain brands that are better? Any advise as to what to avoid? or is the whole idea a bad one? Thanks
