The other post gives you the pattern, I merely want to give you a couple of things to think about before you do this. I have ZERO experience with an MD, but I do have considerable experience with gas powered Farmalls, including M's. BE CERTAIN that it is your ENGINE that's stuck not just a jammed starter before you yank this thing across the barnlot! As the starter drive and ring gear wear, they can get to the point where it will jam. Putting the tractor in 5th and rocking it backwards will often unstick the starter drive. Loosening the mounting bolts on the starter will accomplish the same thing. If the engine is truly stuck, you may pull it and find that it is bent somewhere internally after this adventure.
