No, Not Really. Dad's '51 M was rebuilt in the late 50's with 4" 5000 ft high altitude pistons, and had a couple M&W add-on's like the Add-Powr governor, Live 2-way hyd., etc. One spring He took the Super M-TA and the M to town for tune-ups and the M dyno'd 48 HP and the SM-TA (stock) only 47. Since then the M has got M&W Add-Powr' 4" pistons so I suspect it's around 50+ HP now. Neighbor had a '39 M with a C-281 from a 450 in it... M's got hopped-up for the same reason 4020's & 806's got turbo-charged.... Get more work done sooner. Why pull a 9 or 10 ft disc when You can pull a 12 ft?
