yes andy, here is how u can get 28 hours out of a day. First you need to leave the home, and find or develop a very efficient powerful motor to power a spaceship. Now, u have someone at home doing your work. You go on an adventure at near the speed of light. After 24 hours have past, you arrive home to find out 28 if not more hours have past to the people at home. Time is relative, the faster to the speed of light you go, the more time slows down relative to the people on earth or relatively stationary. I'm sure some will say "the earth is moving too you idiot" Here is were relativeity comes into play. EVERYTHING is relative and nothing is definite. With the uncertainty principle it is possible to do remarkable things, like walk through a wall. Calculations have determined that it would take someone walking into a wall for nearly an eternity to have the infinitely miniscule chance of it happening, but it is possible. Not being able to know an electrons speed and position at the same time makes lots of wonderful things possible. Now here is were statiscs come into play in determining what is likley to happen from previous observations. Ok, Have I confused you yet? Just a few ideas like you asked...
