If you have had the timing drive apart (gears under timing cover) you could have a problem there. Or if you have had the magneto apart there are gears in there that can be set wrong. I would start by pulling the #1 spark plug and cranking over to find TDC and then pull the distributor cap on the mag and see where the rotor is pointing to. Let us know what you find.
