That is only a support bearing it has grease in it from a zerk fitting, no oil fill. If there is a device that looks about 3-1/2" in dia. and 7" long or so, it may be a power steering torque motor. If it is there, and has hydraulic lines going to it, it is a PS unit. If it is there and has no lines going to it it may be an abandoned PS unit that would really add to the slop in the steering, and be hard to turn. In this case if you still are unsure, post a picture. JimN
