I would do the compression check as mentioned and compare the readings. Since you have fire at the plugs, pour about a teaspoon of gas into one of the cylinders and then see if the engine starts. If it does, it's an indication there's no gas being pulled into the intake manifold. The carburetor may need a thorough cleaning in carb cleaner and blow air thru the jets. I would install a rebuild kit too. Have any of the sparkplugs been wet? Before you do this, bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Hold your thumb over the plug hole while someone hand cranks the engine. Drop a screwdriver in the hole with a large handle once you feel compression against your thumb. Watch that screwdriver until it quits rising. Be sure to use one with a large handle and once the piston is at TDC, remove the cap off the distributor or mag and see where the rotor is pointing. Should be at the No1 plug tower. This is to see if something jumped time. You can have fire and still be out of time. Hal
