Char Lynn steering system

Two years ago I put a Char Lynn steering unit on my 400 farmall.I have not been really happy with it bot was a whole bunch better than nothing.The last two times I used it the pump got boiling hot.I took the filter out a replaced the fluid with Dextron 111. Any ideas would be helpful
