Ken, IH serial numbers usually started with 501, so your 806 is a very early model, the 26th one made. The S-Y on the end indicates equipment the tractor was built with, though I can't remember what it stands for, and I don't have my reference book available. I have a 706D with the same S-Y on the end of it's serial number. You ought to get in touch with Ken Updike, a regular poster on this board. I believe he has the first 806, S/N 501.
