Took my newly purchased gas 574 out for its maiden voyage last week, it ran GREAT for about 30 minutes max. No smoke, no sputtering, no missing, etc. Then out of the blue, it sputtered and died, then wouldn"t start. I noticed gas dripping steadily from the carburetor. Made sure the key was off, then drained the carburetor via the plug on the bottom of the bowl. Tried to start it again, same thing. Carb bowl filled with gas and started dripping gas again. Drained it, waited 1 hour, it started again, ran really rough and died within a minute. Any thoughts? Stuck float?? Bad shut-off solenoid? Angry tractor gods??? I plan on rebuilding the carburetor and installing a new float to see if this corrects the problem, but would appreciate any input from youse tractor exspurts on possible causes and potential solutions.
