Carl, I saw a nice conversion at a tractor show last year that use an IHC truck engine (345). Rear bell housing adapter was at least 1" thick steel. It was a nice looking conversion. If you use a non-governor type engine, you should install a mechanical belt driven one, or you will have to have your hand/foot on the throttle all the time to control the speed that a working full range governor will do automatically. With the IH engine, at least he kept it mostly all IH.
