I read all the posts and will agree if it doesn't have power steering I would run run run away from it. Now having said that We did not have a 300 but a 330 for about twenty years. I hated the tractor, but it was a good tractor it had power steering and a loader on it. We moved proabably 5000 big round bales with it over the years some as far as a mile at a time. Never picked up one with out one on the back first, many of these bales may have weighed 800 lbs how ever many of them may have weight 1500 lbs also, they were all made with a Vermeer 605A. The problems we had with the tractor were not caused by hauling bales, but I am not saying it was good for it. We pulled a 9 ft New Holland Haybine with it, a 3 disc plow. It caught on fire once while plowing had $500 ins. on it took that to fix it. Now that is how we used it It is not a heavy enought tractor to move bales with but it will and poor people have poor ways.
