Mark, The way it`s sounding to me is your hitch isn`t the problem- it`s the prong height on your adapter.I think you have the large prong (3" H)on your adapter. The prong height is measured at the thickest point of the prong, not where it`s tapering down.Without actually going out and measuring mine, I`m going to guess you`ll have to go about a foot back from the point of the prong and measure the height there.Now if that is the problem, you can either find an adapter with small prongs (2 1/2") or cut a 1/2" off the bottom of the prongs on your adapter.
