You may be correct in the change from BD-220 to C-221. I thought it was during the 101 production run but it may have been during the 303s. Easiest way tell the difference is to look at the governor. BD-220 came out the side of the front cover, C-221 mounts in the back of the front cover. I know there was at least one 303 with a BD 220 in it because I put it there. Mine threw the flat belt and it got wedged in the pulley housing. Flattened the rear main bearing and twisted the block.
