Okay, Im NOT an IHC Mag kinda guy but am on the Wico Mags JD used soooooooooooooo I can still tell ya this. The strength of the starting impulse spark is CRITICAL to starting tractors (especially hand crankers) and I always tell people at about 3/16 inch it needs to be a good visible BLUE spark NOT a faint thin wimpy hard to see yellow spark if shes gonna start well. First thing I suspect n service or replace is the points and gap them or at least non abrasively clean/buff/polish off any gray oxide coating and the spring has to be good n strong so she really SNAPS NOT makes a faint dull clunk lol John T
