A while back, I posted something here about my SM always showing a hard charge on the ammeter. I checked the batt, the system for shorts, and got a new 10si alt (12v conv)...still showed a steady charge. On a whim, I thought maybe the ignition coil was loading down the elect system while the tractor was running. So, got a new 12v coil, put it on, and she missed like hell. Frustrated, I put the old coil back on...she runs great and the charging problem is gone. Any thoughts about what around the dist/coil was loading down the alt.????? Thanks...and don't eat too many chocolate bunnies!!
