I have used electrolysis for cleaning parts on the last 2 tractors I have restored. It works very well for distroying rust and removing paint and decals. I use a 55 gal steel oil drum with the top cut out and hang the part that I am cleaning from an old fiberglass handle across the top of the drum. Be patient pull the part out and wash it with a water hose or pressure washer and put it back in. Use washing soda not baking soda. clap positive lead to drum negitive must be attached by a wire to the part being cleaned. For small parts like bolts, springs, etc The shope.com or Wal Mart sell a rust distroyer that you an soak parts in overnight or more and remove rust and gunk.
