Hugh that side the shaft will not come out of the diff housing because the brake drum has to come off the shaft before the shaft goes out thru the diff housing. Same way on the left the drum has to be removed before the shaft will go out thru the diff housing and on that side the shaft housing cannot be removed until the brake drum is removed. At least the right side the housing will come off.
