I used to have a IH 815 combine w/Hydro drive. Engine operating speed was 2800 rpm. same engine in 806 tractor ran at 2400. Gallons pumped and operating pressure are what makes a hydrostatic drive work properly, therefore under load they should be operated at their full capacity, but as always, good judgement should be used. Also, if changing ground speed, use the hydro instead of the throttle. Larry in Mo.
