460 cam gear?

Would any of you know how to remove the cam gear from a 460.I need to replace the gasket between the block and the backing plate.I have tried on a parts engine,removed the nut and with a puller, broke a few teeth on the gear.I only have one good one left and it is the one I need to remove.I appreciate any help.
