Oh man! I bought an old Rover that had been sitting 15 years with a full tank of fuel. About half had evaporated. There was two inches of black, tar-like sludge in the bottom and the liquid was very brown and smelled so bad that it made my wife ill and the neighbors complained. I had to take the tank to a radiator shop to be boiled in a hot tank to get the gunk out.
