I just had a machine shop replace the valve guides on my B (no press). The guides that came with the kit I bought didn't have a shoulder either. The shop ordered new ones from the case dealer that had the shoulder so there wasn't a problem with setting them to the right depth. The shop just picked up the cost for the new guides so I don't know how much they cost. It may be something to look into and if the cost is ok, go ahead and reorder so that the guides are right and you don't have a problem later.
