Guys, our small mfg. business is paying considerably more for anything with metal in it these days. For example, stainless steel has more than doubled in the past two years. I'd say the folks still charging $5 are selling old inventory. They will surely reprice it the next time they buy the next batch of that item. If you have a place selling filters for a low price, you may want to load up and get three or four because we'll not likely see those low prices again. The global economy has arrived and with the folks in India, China, Malaysia and Indonesia now buying cars and building houses, all basic materials (steel, concrete, copper) are going up in price because of the demand. Our raw material costs for our products went up 15% last year and are still headed up this year. Better load up on those $5 filters, I'd say.
