Get the charging system operating properly, or convert to 12 V (either in the generator or go to an alternator). You will regret it otherwise, after the novelty of the mag has worn off... especially if the tractor isn't dead instant to start or is cold blooded and you live in a climate where it can get cold... Speaking of dangerous hand cranks... my little 38 / 39 styled JD L took me for a ride around the crank handle when i was about 14... didn't break anything but my pride, just a few cuts and bruises after it bounced me off of the gravel in the driveway... It's a real bummer when they try to run backward on ya...
