Hello! I have been hearing stories about expensive rebuilding and lack of power of Lo_Boy engines. I have a solution . I recently purchased a Model# 154 Lo-Boy with a V.W. Rabbit Diesel. It needed some finishing touches but it has power to spare and if the engine ever pooches' a used V.W. diesel is cheap compared to a rebuild. Unless you want to keep your tractor original.
You might want to consider this if you come upon a good tractor with a blown engine at the right price.Like you I am sick and tired at fixing Noma and Mtd JUNK! Happy hunting.
