Jay's Maple seeds

Maple seeds are also called whirlygigs. They whirl around almost like helicopter. Sugar maple seeds are about 1" to 1.5" long shaped like a scythe with a rounded end and wing. Longer ones from are silver maples.
They come off about this time of year - seem to be a bit later this year because the cold snap killed lots of the first bunch.
