Gene they started no tilling corn here in the 70s, it has all but dissapeared here. This is not big corn country mind you. I no till some when I don't have time to do all the plowing, but had rather plow myself. I do get better yields on the plowed ground, but as Allen said I am on a rotation between corn, tobacco, beans and hay. On my plowed ground I don't use any weed control except for a cultivator. I have watched as nearly every chemical we used on tobacco has been outlawed, I also think corn chemicals will go this way eventually too. To many non farm people have the control. If you don't believe that just look at the reintroduction of wolves. People in LA and New York as well as other places are setting policy for things they know nothing about. Farmers and ranchers fought wolves for 100 years to get rid of them and now you can't even kill one that is eating a calf. I think wolves should be introduced to Griffen and central park so these folks He** bent on having them can see first hand what the ranchers have to deal with. When their poodles and children are eaten, they will see things in a different light. There are so few farmers now that we do not have any policy setting ability left.
