I got drafted into the Army in 1953 and my brother joined the Air Force in 1951. We both turn down deferrments. Best thing ever happened to me. I grew up and got married too in 1953. My 2 brother-in laws were recalled to active too.
Both had served in WW2 and were married to my wife's older sister's. They stayed in until they retired. I volunteered to go Airborne after basic training and stayed at Ft Bragg with the 82nd. Hal
