I have done three farmalls just by changing to a non resistor 12 volt coil and adding a ballast resistor in the 12v line to the coil. Bought all my stuff from the Big A parts store in Morehead. Morehead isn`t very big so any auto should have one. Leave the starter as is. It cranks great with the 12 volt. Really spins her over. If one ever burns up then get a 12 volt replacement. I us the one wire delco alt. but get a low amperage one as you can. You don`t a real high amp for these tractors and they take horsepower to turn. I have the Big A part numbers for the coil and resistor. Email me if you need them.Almost forgot change your bulbs and change to neg. ground. WorksGreat! Thanks, Mike
