What I like to do, before I even start the engine in the spring or after sitting, thru cold weather, back the plugs out to the last one or two threads and see if water will run out. It will come out clear and when it stops and oil starts just tighten it up and you are probably good to go. Now saying this, I just got back to the house from checking cows and when I came by the hay barn I started two tractors ( H and 674) and forgot my own advice. so I will have to wait a few days until the water and oil separate again. I have no idea how long this takes.
