Every time this comes up, someone (such as I) should ask why? With a 5+ year old generic battery, my '49 Super A cranks and starts at -10F and fires right up. You shouldn't have to crank an engine forever to get it started. Consider cleaning all the electrical connections and checking compression (to see if any pushrods escaped the rocker arms, which happened to me, making for slow cranking). I suppose if you want brighter headlights, a 12v conversion might make sense.
