What kind of grass is out there? If it is bermudagrass, you can disk it and the bermuda will come back. Most of the seeded grasses will not survive the cultivation.
Is it a new or established stand of grass? Why I ask is that new seedings would theoretically have less top growth present and you could possibly harrow the ridges down if it wasn't too hard of soil.
