It is a common sump trans mission rearend and hyd. all the same and ya use HY TRAN . Filter on lower right side of rear frame under teardrop cover . When cover is removed you will loose about one gallon of oil . As far as checking anything else , yes the final drives as they do not get oil from the rear end Unless at one time someone had the back end apart and updated it by drilling a hole in the bottom of the rear end on each side . So on the flang part of each rear axel housing you will find a plug half way up for the fill and level of the oil and on the vary bottom of each is a drain plug takes a 3/8ths square plug socket Ya can get by sometimes with a 3/8ths extenchion But due to the slight roundness of the edges on a extenchion many have been rounded out as it does not fit like a plug socket does.
