I realize that this doesn't have a lot to do with the original post, but I just got a Dealer Security manual titled Productive Tool Equipment. It deals with how to set up an efficient shop and the tools needed for the "new" letter series tractors. There is a picture of an H on steel setting in an IH shop, and the wheels appear to be painted with the dark blue paint that the implements used.
