well that depends on how much ya want to spend ??? as for me since i am cheap but had to do and over haul myself i would go with a set of 8000 ft pistons a 350 cam and head if i could find one along with the manifold .Then i would recurve the stock dist MY WAY do a littel tweeken the carb again my way and this should gain ya about 15to 20% over stock . Now if ya want to spend somemore the i would do a C C job on the head and MATCH the ports and not polish them as this realy hurts a engine preformance if ya want more out of the head then ya have the head flowed to see where your at then start with bigger intake valves and some mod to the port runners as ya need the corseness of the ports to help with the mix of the air and fuel. Having the cam REBUILT and Blueprinted will gain ya some and also balancing the crank flywheel and ft pulley is cheap horse power . Taken a .100 off the head and using the tractor for work you are asken for trouble and will limit you to ever having to have the head milled if it ever warps from heat . The high alt. pistons will give ya more them the mill job . Now if ya want to destroy a good S/H then pull the sleaves out and find a piston that ya can run on the block and bore the block out till ya hit the water jacket then go a bit more and sleave it . Here again just how much money do you want to waste . If ya want a 100 horse power then get a 856 if ya want a 150 hp the get a 1066

Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
