Put the rings into the cylinder they go into just at the top of the wear. (where the top ring stops. (be sure that they are right side up, and square in the bore. Measure the end gap of the rings (one at a time) if they are more than 50% larger than specified for new, the rings are toast.\ Google piston rings, Ill bet you can find a source that will sell you the pieces you need.
