Tom , I have done a bunch of rims lately (6). I have been using the Case IH Argent Silver, with a hardener. It's funny, this is the same name GM used on it's wheels way back to the 57 Chevy. Through the Corvettes, and Camaros. But I have found the real secret in a great looking rim is to shoot it first with an epoxy primer. Then use a lot of body filler (Bondo) to fill in the pitting. Sand with an electric sander, the little Makita is nice, velcro discs in 100. The as many coats of primer surfacer, and sanding with 220 as you need to get them factory new. I figure a spend a minimum of 10-12 hours per rim, but I never seen any to equal them. I pay 125.oo at the salvage yard, but I specify only top grade. Very little rust, drop center for the Super H and M. OH yeah, I do the inside also. But I use body shop reject colors there. Then new tubes, new tires, all in all about 600 per rer side before I am done. Gordo Gordo
