Those old mags are forgiving and usually don't need a lot of work to get them to fire. The weather is harder on them than from use. I restored 5 or 6 Standardtwin garden tractors and one Viking and they had mags. All but the Viking was never sheltered. Only had one mag I couldn't get to fire and it had lost the magnetism in its magnets. If you don't use the tractor much in the Winter I would pull the mag off and keep in a dry area. If you decide to ever pull it post back for instructions. This is so you don't get the mag out of time. Hal PS: Here's that mag with the dead magnets.
