The mainfold fits, good enough anyway. Since the intake and exhaust manifolds are a little out of line, the 4 bolts that hold them together need to be loosened until both intake and exhaust are seated. A little tricky, but once I found that with my hand over the carb intake almost got sucked in, I knew it was solved. I thought I did that when I installed it a while back, but apparantly I didn't get it seated good enough. Hard to see without shining a light on it. Started on about the 4th revolution. About 3 days bumbling around messing with the carb and wiring, when it was ok to begin with. The 460 was completly disassembled except for the gears in the transmission. The whole thing has been an experience, more of a journey, which sometimes seemed to have no end. A few leaks to fix and some sheet metal to repaint and assemble, and it's done. Thanks for everyone's help.
