First off if it is black smoke then it is fuel . first check the air filter . Next would be have a professional that know what he is doing with the injection pump as someone may have gotten there grubby fingers in it and it is set wrong Check the pump timing . Next do a valve adjustment here again if ya do not know what your doing then let a pro do it as valve to piston clearance is tight and if ya mess up ya could make a valve make friends with a piston . Next have the injectors tested as they may need rebuilt . The breather is located on the left ft. of the engine and is a tube from the head down the side of the engine behind the left frame rail.
