Bob: SMTA, away ahead of it's time, I find this one hard to believe. Almost 8 years before both Cockshutt and Oliver had 6 cylinder engines both gas and diesel and the diesel was direct start. Both had Independant PTO. Cockshutt had fully live dual action hydraulics by 1946. Not sure on Oliver hydraulics. And both had dual range transmissions by 1946, no it wasn't automatic shift but they had a range of working gears unequaled by IH until the 06 tractors. By the way, both the Cockshutt 40 and the Oliver 88 will leave a SMTA in the dust on drawbar or PTO.
