If you have it at full throttle and it is pulling down below PTO speed, then that would be overloading it... Our tractors are always blowing smoke - and they have turbos. Can't afford bigger and better things so what we have will need to earn its keep. Haven't wrecked any of them yet... but they will start to run hot if you really over do it. What mower are you pulling that makes a 656D work? Must be a mower-conditioner...
