The small gear has one tooth with just the very end tapered off a bit. The big gear should have a R and a L mark on the end where the rotor slides down over it. The big gear then has a slash down the side from the R & L pointing to the proper tooth. Of course you use R for clockwise and L for CC. Some are even marked C & CC.
